About SASI Scoop

The Scoop and Sack It, also known as the S.A.S.I. Scoop, is a pooper scooper invented through the innovative mind of a 10-year old boy living in Broomfield, Colorado.  After using many different poop scoops on the market to clean up after his own dogs, Aaron decided to create one that really worked.  His version features a telescoping handle and utilizes ordinary grocery bags.

Ten year old boy's pooper scooper invention

Ten Year Old Boy Inventor     Most companies start with a complicated business plan, not this one.

My name is Larry Clark and I'm the dad of the ten year old boy, Aaron, that invented a dog poop scoop in the fifth grade. The S.A.S.I. Scoop was started partly because he hated to pick up dog poop and he needed and idea for a project that was due at school.

Aaron talked about making a motorized poop scoop a year or two earlier, but like most parents we just said ok, and never thought about it. As we found out later he was very serious about making a better poop scoop that would Scoop And Sack It in one motion. This was how the company was started and the scoop was named, using the first letters of the job he wanted it to do S.A.S.I..

A ten year old has a great imagination and looks at a problem from a different perspective. I find it amazing that my son came up with this new idea and no one else did. His idea has led to other poop scoops using plastic bags and telescoping handles since his invention.

Maybe it's a good idea to listen to your children the next time they come up to you and say I have an idea.

This is the first "pooper scooper" I ever purchased, it was in 1997 as I recall. What I can't believe is that this pooper scooper was invented by a 10 year old young boy. I have been so pleased with my pooper scooper. I purchased it at Petsmart in Houston, Texas and I believe I paid around $10-15.00 dollars for it. It finally gave out on me. The rod rusted and broke. I highly recommend this product and kuddos to the young man who invented it. I sure wish I knew his name so I could "Thank" him personally, by now he's a grown man. Again, this pooper scooper beats all the scoopers I have seen in pet stores. Highly recommended!!!!!!

My favorite scooper. You can use standard grocery bags. Bout mine in Dallas several years ago, and now need another one. I'm so glad they are still being manufactured.

BEST POOPER SCOOPER available!! Nothing works better!! Bought one a few years ago at a pet store, but cannot find them around anymore. When the handle broke off, we panicked because we hadn't seen them in stores anymore. So glad they are available on line!

on our 2nd scopper, been using this product for 10 years. It works great on grass. We really like the design and a few improvements on the second one. Got the first one at the Sports Outdoor show in Denver in 2004

We love this scooper. We're on our fifth dog now and we had two scoopers, one for home and one for the lake. We gave one of those to our grandson so we're ordering another. We couldn't find them at Pet Smart anymore. When our first handle broke, we just screwed in an old mop handle and it works fine. Kudos to you Aaron! And thanks for your wonderful invention!

Have used this for many years; easy to work, lasts for years & years, uses those plastic bags we all get from the stores. A great gift for my dog-lover friends!
